When you’re figuring out what to cook for dinner, where do you start? With your store cupboard ingredients? Or do you find that one interesting ingredient that shapes the whole meal? We don’t always have that luxury, but we know the meals that stand out are those that follow the latter rule…
At The Wood Window Museum work every day to breath new life into historic wood windows. We know exactly what ingredients it takes – and they’re in our store cupboard. So at the start of every project we seek out that one interesting ingredient. What about THIS project will capture our imagination?
The special ingredient for this week’s project is the hardware. And guys – it’s been a battle to figure the hardware out… much like buying a cut of meat you haven’t cooked before. We’re juggling restoring antique hardware, alongside hard to source hardware – even trawling our favorite local reclamation yard to find the hardware that will make this project special. Every window in this clients’ home is different – and each needs its own solution.
It’d be easy to go online and order replication hardware – and it’d likely work just fine. But the opportunity to seek the special ingredients for this project are just too great. So we’re going to keep hunting…
